"We have been the target of a consistent hack on our adservers[...]", Russell Kay (YoYo Games, Ltd) explained in a blog post this morning. Of course, we can't just blame hackers. That's kind of what you get for using poorly secured systems. Russell continues on to say, "[...]this morning we have removed the adserver completely[...]". All Ads on YoYo Games are now served directly through Google. Russell says that they're going to "ditch OpenX completely".
I doubt this is the last we'll see of these hackers. Make sure you have anti-virus protection software installed on your computer before visiting again.
YoYo Games, Ltd hasn't yet commented on the viruses that people were getting from strictly downloading games found in the spotlight slide. It's best to assume they're looking into it.
Safe at last - for now
