INDIE(FUNCTION); — Broadcast seven of indie(Function);'s indie(Radio); was broadcast Saturday, July 23rd. The news was nice and short, as it simply recapped what had happened this week. INDIE(FUNCTION); — Today, at noon, indie(Radio); attempted to have their first broadcast. Microphone wasn't working, so they had to resort to sending it to another team member, which cost them a good TWENTY minutes. After the late start, the show lasted for half an hour, with okay sound quality. We promise the next broadcast will sound better, just the way we were doing it there was no way it would produce a high quality stream.

GAMEMAKER BLOG — GMTalk Game Maker Podcast - Episode 4 came out yesterday, after a break over the summer. After the 4 month disappearance, Andrew McCluskey, Jack Brockley and Philip Gamble are on air, with a few guests such as Josh Conley and Game Maker decompiler author Zach Reedy. They talked about topics such as the new GM8 Decompiler, the new iOS port, and a little overview of Competition06. The episode can be found here and the full list of topics can be found here.

Game Polisher (run by hd4life) hosted their 5th broadcast today, Saturday, September 4th, and had 22 live listeners. Hosts today were hd4life with assistance from W!TS, and a guest host named Will, who is a 9 year old game developer. WOW! Topics are mostly about what happened this summer in GM, because Game Polisher was off air all summer. They reviewed Circle Rider by Spydog, which was made in GM for Competition 06, and a flash game called Hot Ninja Moon Moon by Scattle. They hosted a contest, which declared Banov (the creator of Dubloon and Assassin's Blue) as winner. Banov will put in his game idea and Glitchy Games will create the game.

Hd4life has finished the Game Polisher Website and wanted to remind everyone that there is a contest taking place tomorrow over the air on the show. For the contest, listeners are given the chance to have my game making "company" Glitchy Games make them any game they can imagine. All you have to do is email a code to gamepolisher@gmail.com during the show.

So let's say you win. You would get an email back and it would tell you to summit your idea. So you could say "I want a Top-Down Shooter based around robots in the 25th century that...." or "I would LOVE a Mario like game, but this time, make it with Lego characters and...". This contest is open to everyone who listens in, but it more directed towards those who don't know about Game Development or don't have the time to make a game. If profits are made with this game, the winner will receive part of the profits.

THIS SATURDAYS GMINDIE RADIO SHOWS were as follows: GMIndie Radio (1:00:00), Nikc-Nack Show (0:30:00), Tailware Show (0:30:00), Sweet topics in game design (0:30:00), and IndieCast (0:30:00).

You can find download links by going to each show's official website. A link to those pages can be found on the GMIndie Radio shows page.

Next week, the show hosts and co hosts are going to have to try their best, because they have to impress the critics (judges).

We have some judges pitching in to listen to the shows LIVE. 3 people are chosen to be judges (or critics) for each show. When it's over, they decide whether the show was good enough that they'd want to listen to it again, and if it is, they vote yes. On the other hand, if they don't think it's worth listening to again, they vote no. A show must contain 2 or more yes's to pass. If it gets 2 or 3 no's, it is removed from GMIndie Radio permanently.

Good luck to all shows!

GMIndie is planning to launch the very first 24/7 dedicated Game Maker radio station. It's said to be launched as early as August fifth (a few days).

The plan is to keep the radio station dedicated to GMIndie radio, so it will be looping replays throughout the day, and playing music over night (from NewGrounds, credit given to authors).
It'll be like a real radio show. For a new LIVE show every other Saturday, tune in on Saturdays at 7AM PST (-7 GMT). The show will go BLANK for 10 minutes before the show. So expect that!

There will also be on the hour news, every 4 hours. So tune in every 4 hours during day time to hear LIVE updated Game Maker News, and even leaked GM media gossips
So that I won't have to do all of the work as far as announcing GM news goes, I'm looking for a news announcer. All you have to do is record the latest GM news (talk fast so it can be done quicker) and send it our way at gmdigest@gmail.com in mp3 format

GMIndie has already found disk jockey's to play the NewGrounds music and announce the music authors, which according to NewGrounds is the only thing we need to do to legally play their music on the radio show.

The promised continuation to GMIndie Podcast II (with Sandy Duncan) is finally here. It's pretty much a "show us what you got so far", and then "let's see what we can come up with" kind of podcast. Hope you enjoy it.
