GameInScotland

GameInScotland is the BIG chance for any game programmer, artist, tester, designer, or animator to get a job! Yes, I said a job. Even with YoYoGames.

GameInScotland is (obviously) a gaming event in Scotland - where BIG game companies are actually hiring people to work for them. This event will be free, and you better reserve those plane tickets, because the big event is this Saturday 22nd May 2010, at 12 noon, Fat Sams Nightclub, Dundee.

According to GameInScotland:
"Scotland is home to some of the world’s most successful games development studios creating top selling titles, notably smash hits the Grand Theft Auto franchises, State of Emergency, Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup, Lemmings, Denki Blocks for the Sky TV Platform and Championship Manager for mobile and the multi-award winning Crackdown for XBox360.... The afternoon will consist of a series of informal, yet informative, presentations and allow plenty of opportunity for you to chat with Scotland’s games companies. Don’t forget to bring lots of copies of your CV - and even better - any demos you have, most of these games companies have positions to fill NOW and post graduation 2010!"

So better get working on some demos to show them so maybe they'll hire you! You'll probably need to be either a college student or a graduate to get into the games industry, but don't worry - they've been doing this for 4 years now and will probably have another one next year and still the next year following, so be patient and make some games!
